Sage salt is incredibly easy to make at home. Use this recipe to enhance the flavours of pork, chicken, fish and other meats. Flavoured salt is an excellent way to bring a different taste to your dishes and up your culinary game. It also makes an unique gift or party favour once packaged into small airtight jars.
Soba, the Japanese term for buckwheat noodles, is gluten free and full of bio-compounds that the body needs, such as all eight essential amino acids, choline, thiamine and riboflavin (source). It also contains antioxidants which helps the body fight free radicals and prevent/delay some types of cell damage such as cancer. In conclusion, thumbs up for Soba for being good to your body.
I first tried natto when I was interning at a boutique advertising agency in Vancouver. During that time, I lived with my cousin and his roomate on Burnaby Mountain, commuted to work in Yaletown and occasionally visited friends in Richmond. This trip was an eye-opener for me, both professionally and personally. Not only was it my first job in the design field, it was also my first time experiencing that you did not need a car to get places, cooking (yikes!) and eating avocados (I know!) among many other things. I came back a changed person, and somehow, Vancity had turned me into a foodie.
